Day #223

Beautiful colours in the sunset last night …1

Weekly Photo Challenge: Escape

Ever had that experience where life picks you up and chucks you through a wormhole, and you pop out at the end and suddenly realise “oh, where did all that time just go?”. Well, I just popped out of that wormhole! So, I already missed one Weekly Photo Challenge: Pattern, and I am pretty late for this one, Escape, but better late than never!! I find that the simplest ways to escape are the best. The escapes which involve a £1000 plane ticket to paradise are not easy to achieve every weekend! So, here are my top three things to do to escape …

A walk in Windsor Great Park

Weekly Photo Challenge: Colour

So, I have been away for a while, once again! Alas, I was hit a second time with a cold/flu thing, and haven’t been wanting to do much more than sit in bed and read! But here I am, back and hopefully no more illness – the warmth of spring should finally arrive in Britain next week, so it’s all good from here.

The Weekly Photo Challenge for this week is colour. I’m sure there are a million photos to share, but instead I have chosen this simple sunset, taken only an hour or so ago. It’s very subtle, but I find that the colour of a sunset always makes me happy, gives me hope and motivation, and there is nothing more beautiful!

Until next time …

Returning to Philadelphia … (Day #038)

One of the first photos I took once I landed in Philadelphia in August 2010 …

Tomorrow I will be flying from Heathrow to Philadelphia for my fourth visit to the USA in less than 3 years! I am, of course, visiting Chris, and will be staying a mere 2 weeks this time – that’s the least amount of time we’ve ever spent together on a visit!

It was August 2010, my first visit to the USA, when I came through Philadelphia airport. My mind now associates it with some rather severe questioning followed by being escorted into the arrivals hall by a member of the TSA staff to find Chris, and question him, prove his identity, confirm our motives … ohhh, it was quite an ordeal! But, when I arrive at Philadelphia tomorrow, I know that all they will do is take my prints and retina scan and wish me well – quite a difference, right!

My next post – probably an entry to the Weekly Photo Challenge tomorrow – will be from York, Pennsylvania. And this time around I will have a better camera, plus no crack on the car windscreen to avoid! Hurray 🙂

Until next time …

Weekly Photo Challenge: Unique

The Weekly Photo Challenge for this week is unique. Great challenge! Here are some things that are unique to me …

Just wish to add, it’s my mums birthday today! About to go and create some unique memories as we celebrate 🙂

Until next time …
