Weekly Photo Challenge: Escape

Ever had that experience where life picks you up and chucks you through a wormhole, and you pop out at the end and suddenly realise “oh, where did all that time just go?”. Well, I just popped out of that wormhole! So, I already missed one Weekly Photo Challenge: Pattern, and I am pretty late for this one, Escape, but better late than never!! I find that the simplest ways to escape are the best. The escapes which involve a £1000 plane ticket to paradise are not easy to achieve every weekend! So, here are my top three things to do to escape …

Weekly Photo Challenge: From Above

The Weekly Photo Challenge for this week is from above. Well, for me, there is nothing more relaxing or more beautiful than being on a plane and looking out at the clouds below you. I could share hundreds of those pictures, but this one is a particular favourite, taken somewhere in the Bermuda Triangle, on our way to Puerto Rico …

Helsinki calling!

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Finnish_flag_with_pole_on_independence_day_2011.jpgWe’re booked! My sister and I will be spending 4 nights and 5 days in Helsinki, Finland, from 29th July-2nd August. It is a dream come true for both of us – I have always wanted to visit Finland, and it seems that dream rubbed off on my sister too.

I had always promised my sister that when she turned 18, we would take a couple of months out and tour Australia. That was when I was 16, and a lot of things changed since then. In light of the fact that I will be moving to USA next year, we compromised and I said I would take her anywhere in Europe, just the 2 of us, and I’d pay for it all.

You see, no one in my family likes flying, except me and my sister. I don’t want her to lose out on the amazing experience of travelling, because I know she won’t go alone! So, as a present for her 15th birthday (which is today!), and a gift to myself for my 21st (on 19th July), we will be spending 5 days in Helsinki!

Time to find that old Finnish phrasebook and get practising …

Hauskaa päivänjatkoa!

Happy Birthday Little British Pea!

Wow, A Little British Pea has turned one today! I can’t believe it was already a year ago that I began this blog, with a completely different name and for completely different reasons to what it has become. I am only just realising what I can do with this blog, and I am thankful to each and every one of you, for every view, like and follow, which has spurred me on to continue something I never thought would last a week!

Thank you!
